Blew through a whole 5-gallon bucket of mud on one closet last Tuesday

I was finishing a walk-in closet in a new build over in Sterling and just kept slapping it on without checking my flatness. Anyone else ever get carried away and waste a ton of mud on a dumb mistake like that?

So you're saying using 5 gallons on one closet is too much? That's like saying a painter should use a thimble to paint a house. Some jobs need a proper coat, not just a thin wash. If a closet has thick texture walls and dark primer, 5 gallons might barely do the job right.
