Hot take: Hitting 2000 square feet in a single day is not a good goal

I just finished a job where we pushed to cover 2100 square feet in 8 hours. Everyone on the crew was proud, but I felt off. The quality suffered, we had more waste from rushed cuts, and my back was shot for two days after. I see a lot of guys chasing these big numbers like it's a badge of honor. In my view, a clean 1500 square feet with perfect seams and no callbacks is a better win. It saves money and time on the back end fixing mistakes. Has anyone else decided to slow down a bit for a better final product?

We aim for 1500, quality over speed.

Ever think that speed was everything? I used to, until a few rushed jobs taught me that callbacks eat up any time you saved. I'm with @jamie_price on this, a solid 1500 is a better day's work for everyone.
