My laser level finally got retired after that ceiling grid job

Last month I was hanging a drop ceiling in a basement over in Maplewood and my cheap laser level kept drifting every time the furnace kicked on. I spent about 45 minutes re-marking the same line and got so fed up I grabbed a chalk line and did it old school with two tape measures. That took me 20 minutes total and came out straighter than the laser ever did on a good day. Now I only use the laser for big open walls where I can set it away from vents and vibrations. Anyone else ditched their laser for a chalk line on tricky jobs?
