My uncle always said to mix mud with cold water in the summer

He worked in Florida for 30 years and swore it set slower, giving you more working time. I finally tried it on a big garage job this week when it was 95 degrees out. It made a HUGE difference, I wasn't fighting the mud drying on my hawk. Anyone else have a simple trick for hot weather work?

Wow, I always thought warm water was better for mixing in general. This totally flips that idea on its head for summer work. What other old-school tricks are out there?

Florida for 30 years? That man earned his wisdom the hard way. Never would have thought cold water could make that big a difference. Gonna try that next time it's a scorcher out. Always just suffered through it drying up too fast.
