Plastic vs metal taper tool, the metal one saved my finish
Been hanging and finishing for about 15 years now, mostly residential work in Columbus. I always used the plastic bazooka taper for my butt joints, figured it was fine. Last month I borrowed a metal one from a guy on a commercial job and the difference was night and day. The metal tool lays the mud flatter so I only needed one skim coat instead of two on a 30 foot hallway. Has anyone else switched materials on their tools and seen a big jump in their finish time?

You ever tried a metal trowel on corner bead? Game changer for me.
