Serious question, the taper I met in Tulsa told me to stop sanding corners so hard and it finally clicked
I was finishing a basement in Tulsa back in March and this old taper named Ray was doing the second coat next to me. I kept hitting the inside corners with 220 grit like I always do and he just watched me for a bit, then said the paper is doing my job for me and I am paying for it. He grabbed a pole sander, showed me how to feather it out with the knife and barely touch it with grit, and my corners came out cleaner with half the dust. Never had anybody explain it like that in 9 years of hanging board. Does anybody else here feather corners with the knife and skip sanding, or am I late to this?
