Switched from hand taping to a banjo 6 months ago and I'm never going back
I used to hand tape everything for 12 years. Thought I was faster that way. Then I picked up a used banjo from a guy getting out of the trade for $80. First week was rough, mud everywhere, but after that I cut my time on a 12 foot wall by almost half. The finish is actually more consistent too. Has anyone else made the switch and stuck with it or did you go back to hand?

Got my first banjo about 8 years ago, paid $50 for one that looked like it had been through a war. Took me a solid 3 weeks to get the mud to stop slinging everywhere, but after I figured out the sweet spot for my mud consistency I cut my 14 foot ceiling wall time down by almost a full hour. My corners are way tighter now, I can finish a room in the same morning instead of dragging into afternoon.
