That one Friday in July when the tape wouldn't stick to anything

Drove out to a new build in Phoenix last summer and the humidity was at 60% with no AC in the house yet. Every joint I taped just peeled right off after 10 minutes, had to redo the whole living room twice. Any of you guys ever hit a day where the conditions just fight you the whole time?

You ever have one of those days where the whole universe seems to be against you? I swear, I had a similar thing happen last year in Florida, humidity was so thick you could drink it. We were doing a bathroom and nothing would stick, tape just curled up like it had a mind of its own. Had to pull out a heat gun and a fan just to make the mud cooperate, basically turned the job into a four hour nightmare.

Heat gun and fan was the right call honestly... I had a job down in Georgia where the same thing happened and finally just started mixing a little extra water into the mud and working in smaller sections so it didn't dry out before I could get the tape on. Also switched to mesh tape instead of paper for that one, seemed to handle the moisture better even though I usually hate using the stuff. Whole day felt like fighting a losing battle but getting that fan right on the tape as soon as it was on helped it lock in place.

And yeah @sageburns, I feel that. At that point you're like, 'did I forget how to tape drywall overnight or what?' Really makes you wonder if the universe just decided to test your patience that day.
