The painter who told me to stop sanding so much
I had this painter on a job in Denver last spring who just watched me working for like 10 minutes. He finally came over and said 'you're burning up your arms for no reason, the mud doesn't need to be that smooth before primer.' At first I thought he was just lazy, but then he showed me his trick of doing one heavy coat and knocking off just the high spots. Do you guys go for a glass-smooth finish before paint or do you let the primer do some of the work?

Sandpaper companies must love you, man. That's a lot of elbow grease for some mud that's gonna get covered anyway. Is your shoulder still sore or did you switch it up?
