Tuesday on the 5th floor was a total disaster until lunch
We had this big office job downtown, 40 sheets of 5/8 on the ceiling grid. My helper and I were flying through it, then the lift jammed at 11am. Took me 45 minutes to fix the hydraulic line with a pair of pliers and some tape. The GC kept asking when we'd be done, and I told him not before his coffee break ends, he just walked off. By 2pm we were back on pace and wrapped by 4:30, which was way faster than I figured. Anyone else have a lift go down on a tight schedule and still make the day work?

Tape on hydraulic fluid is a classic, but tape's real value was keeping the GC away.
