Why does nobody talk about how much joint compound dust ruins your truck's interior
I was a diehard hand-sander for 8 years until I borrowed a pole sander with a vacuum attachment on a big job downtown last spring... the lack of dust everywhere actually changed my mind. Now I feel like an idiot for breathing all that crap in my truck on the drive home. Has anyone else switched tools after being stubborn for way too long?

Funny how that works with a lot of stuff in life. People get stuck on the old way of doing things just because that's what they learned first. Then one day you try the new tool or system and it's like a light bulb goes off. The construction world is full of that. Guys still mixing mud by hand when a paddle mixer costs nothing and saves your wrists. Same with drywall screws vs nails. We just hate admitting we were doing it the hard way for years. The truck thing hits different though because that dust really does get into everything. Seats, vents, clothes. Hard lesson to learn.

Old habits die hard till the wrists give out.
