A guy at the tire shop in Mesa told me I paid $180 for a "protection plan" that didn't cover the thing that broke
I was getting a nail pulled out of my back tire 6 months ago and the guy behind the counter started laughing at my paperwork from the last place I went to. He pointed at a line that said tire protection plan, $180, and asked if I ever read what it covers. Turns out it covers road damage but not sidewall damage, and guess what I had dealt with a year before, a sidewall bubble from a pothole near my apartment. I paid them $180 for the plan and then paid another $220 out of pocket for the replacement because it wasn't the "right kind" of damage. He said most people just sign and never ask what the exclusions are, and I was one of those people. I sat in that waiting room feeling like a total sucker. So now I'm wondering, has anyone actually had one of these plans pay out, or is it just a $180 napkin?
