Appreciation post: my neighbor's 3 AM garage sale rant saved me $250

He was unloading a near-new treadmill for $100 and I almost grabbed it just to 'start running again'. He laughed and said I'd probably park laundry baskets on it like his wife did, which was exactly what I'd have done. That one comment made me check my impulse, and now the money's sitting in savings instead of becoming a $350 clothes rack. Anyone else have a stranger talk them out of a dumb buy?
