I thought homemade was always better, but jarred sauce saves my sanity
For a long time, I insisted on making tomato sauce from scratch. It took forever and made a mess. One busy night, I grabbed a jar from the store. The dinner was on the table in half the time. Now I keep a few jars in the pantry for those rushed evenings.

Saw a food writer say the "always scratch" rule is how people burn out on cooking. A good jar is a TOOL, not a failure.

Remember arguing with my Nonna about jarred sauce when I was a teenager. She acted like I suggested feeding the family motor oil, said real cooks always start from scratch. Fast forward to last year, I caught her using a jar of Rao's she hid behind the flour tin. She just shrugged and said her feet hurt.

My aunt used to say store-bought bread was a sin... until her arthritis got bad. Now she swears by the bakery aisle.
