Is meal prepping worth it when your Monday night blows up?

I spent 3 hours Sunday prepping dinners for the week, but then a work crisis hit Monday and I ended up ordering pizza anyway. Do you guys find meal prepping actually saves time, or is it just another chore that backfires when life gets messy?

Honestly, I feel you on that. I had a buddy who meal prepped every Sunday for like six months straight, but then his car broke down on a Tuesday and he ended up eating gas station hot dogs for dinner. He said it took him a while to realize that meal prep is more for when you have control over your week, not for when life throws surprises at you. Tbh, he still does it but he only preps for 3 days now instead of 5 so he has wiggle room for nights that go sideways. Ngl, that pizza you ordered probably tasted way better than those sad containers anyway.

Man, it is WILD how much we treat life like it's supposed to be a predictable schedule when it's really just chaos in a trench coat. We set up these whole systems and routines thinking we cracked the code, but one flat tire or a bad day at work and boom, back to square one. That's why I think the real trick isn't perfect planning, it's just leaving some buffer room for when things go off the rails, which they ALWAYS do.
