Just found out my old slow cooker trick for chicken is a total game changer
For years I'd spend 45 minutes cooking chicken breasts in a pan, always drying them out. Then my friend in Denver told me to throw frozen chicken, a jar of salsa, and a packet of taco seasoning in the slow cooker before work. I tried it Tuesday, came home to perfect shredded chicken for tacos in under 10 minutes of actual work. What's your favorite 'set it and forget it' weeknight trick?

Oh man, that salsa trick is a lifesaver. My go-to is dumping a pork shoulder in with a can of root beer. Cooks all day and falls apart for the easiest pulled pork sandwiches. It sounds weird but the sugar in the soda makes an amazing glaze. I eat that for three days straight.

Have you tried adding a splash of apple cider vinegar to that root beer pork for extra tang?
