My coworker told me to buy a rice cooker and won't stop mentioning it
I kept burning rice in a pot every single Tuesday and my coworker Janet finally handed me a $25 rice cooker she got at Target. She said just rinse the rice, add water to the line, and press the button. I made perfect rice in 20 minutes last night with zero stirring and no burnt bottom. Has anyone else had a random kitchen tool change their whole dinner routine?

Get the rice cooker. Trust me. It's the one tool that actually saves you time and cleanup. I used to babysit pots of rice for 30 minutes and still end up with a glued-on crust at the bottom. Now I dump rice in, add water, push a button, and walk away. Perfect rice every single time with zero stirring. It's honestly the best $25 I ever spent.

The real game changer is using the rice cooker water to make your own quick veggie broth after, just toss in scraps and let it simmer for free flavor bombs all week.
