Shoutout to my neighbor for convincing me to stop boiling pasta in a tiny pot
She showed me a chart from a food science site that said more water prevents sticky noodles, and my spaghetti hasn't clumped together since. Anyone else have a simple kitchen rule they ignored forever?

My grandma always boiled pasta in this little two quart saucepan, so I did the same for years. I figured she knew best and it saved water. Then I saw a cooking show where the chef used a giant pot and explained the starch thing. My spaghetti went from a glued together mess to actually separate strands. It feels wasteful using all that water, but I can't argue with the results.

That "saved water" part is so real. @hall.alex, I've started using the pasta water to water my plants after it cools, so it feels less wasteful.
