PSA: the free USPS pickup at my door actually works, 3 months and 0 trips to the post office
I used to load up my trunk twice a week and drive 20 minutes to the post office because I figured free carrier pickup was one of those things that sounds nice but falls apart in practice. A buddy who runs a small candle business in Columbus told me he had not stood in a post office line since 2022, and I honestly did not believe him. I finally set it up 3 months ago and I am down to zero post office runs. The trick for me was printing my labels the night before and leaving the bin on the porch by 9am, since my regular carrier comes somewhere between 10 and 11. The one time my package was not picked up, it was because I had it inside and he could not see it, so now I just put a little note on the bin. My only gripe is the tracking does not always update until later that evening, which had me worried the first week. If you are still making post office trips, what stopped you from trying pickup? And has anyone had a carrier start skipping them after a while?
