Put in a new shower faucet last weekend, water pressure dropped in half

I replaced an old Moen faucet with a Delta model from Home Depot. Followed the instructions exactly, no leaks or anything. But now the shower pressure is way lower than before. Same pipe setup, same shower head. Anyone run into this with newer faucets? Is there a flow restrictor I need to take out?

Pop that Delta cartridge out and look for a little plastic restrictor inside the valve body. It's usually bright colored or white and just snaps in place. Newer faucets are all about saving water, so they choke the flow down even if your pipes can handle more. Same thing happens with kitchen faucets and those EPDM rubber gaskets they pack in now - feels like you're getting less than half what you paid for. Pull that restrictor out with some pliers and your pressure should come right back.
