Ripped out my own basement ceiling after 2 years of hating it
Had a drop ceiling the previous owner put in, flimsy tiles and ugly grid. Finally tore it all out last month and put up drywall instead, cost me about $400 more but the room actually feels like part of the house now. Anyone else deal with those cheap drop ceilings in older Edmonton homes?

Just get a drywall lift from Home Depot for the day, makes the job way easier.

Did you hear about that guy who tried to hang drywall solo without a lift and ended up cracking half the sheets? Yeah, that's why I always rent one too, saves a ton of hassle.
