The week I started trusting spray foam over my old caulk routine

For years I swore by caulking every gap around windows, but after sealing my own basement rim joists with spray foam last month, the temperature swing in that room dropped by nearly 6 degrees on a cold snap. A contractor friend finally talked me into trying it, saying my caulk lines were never airtight anyway. Has anyone else switched mid-project and noticed their heating costs shift that fast?
