I finally ran conduit instead of romex in my own basement and the peace of mind is worth every penny

After dealing with a cramped attic run where romex got snagged on a nail plate last month, I ripped it all out and put in EMT with proper bends, and now I can actually pull new circuits through without swearing at drywall repairs.

Ran 3/4" EMT through my own basement ceiling a couple years back for a home theater setup. Had this one spot where I needed to make a saddle bend around a duct and let me tell you, the first time I pulled cat6 and speaker wire through that path I knew I'd never go back to romex in an unfinished space. The ability to swap out a bad run or add a new circuit without cutting drywall is something you can't put a price on once you've done it. Plus I sleep better knowing those conduit runs are basically indestructible compared to the stapled romex I see in most finished basements.
