I hit 500 service calls without a single callback for the same issue

I always thought it was just luck or easy jobs, but I hit that number last week and it made me stop and think. For years, I rushed through my final checks, trusting my first look. What changed was a tricky ground fault in an old Chicago bungalow about six months ago. I almost missed a loose neutral in a junction box because I was in a hurry. Since then, I've forced myself to do a full five minute walk through after every job, checking every connection I touched and testing under load. It adds time, but hitting 500 clean calls showed me that slow and steady really does win the race. Has anyone else found a simple step that cut down on your callbacks?

Never believed in checklists until they saved my butt.

Respectfully, I see it the other way. Rushing through the final check never cost me a callback, it was always something I actually missed during the fix itself. A walkthrough just catches the stuff I already know I touched - doesn't do much for the problems I haven't found yet.

That final walk-through is a total game-changer, saved me from a few close calls too.
