Passed my master electrician exam after grinding for it all year
I've been a journeyman for about eight years now, and last winter I decided to go for my master license. The studying was tough, especially after long days on site. I spent most weekends going through code books and online practice tests. My foreman even let me shadow him on some complex jobs to get a better feel for the calculations. When results came in last week, I saw I passed on the first try. It feels amazing to have that hurdle behind me. Now I can start taking on more responsibility at our shop, maybe even help train some apprentices. Honestly, just glad the hard work paid off without too much drama.

I tried to rewire a light switch at home last month and almost set the garage on fire. Seeing someone actually master the code books and pass that test on the first try is wild to me. Huge congrats, that's a serious grind paying off. Enjoy not having to study for a while, you've earned it.

Remember that guy Carl from my old work crew? He tried to wire a ceiling fan in his apartment last year. Managed to trip the main breaker for his whole floor of the building. The super was not happy. Makes passing that code test look even more impressive.
