The $12 bushing puller that beat my $150 specialty tool set

Tbh I've been fighting with a seized bushing on a panel change in Austin for 2 hours and everyone swore by the expensive kit, but a cheap bushing puller from the hardware store popped it out in one shot, so has anyone else ditched the fancy stuff for the simple route in a pinch?

Ain't it funny how the cheap stuff sometimes just works better? I had the same thing with an old Ford ball joint, the $200 press kit I borrowed just would not budge, but a $15 pickle fork from the parts store popped it loose in five minutes. Now I keep the simple stuff in the truck first and only pull out the fancy tools when I really have to.
