Warning: My apprentice's 'quick fix' for a loose neutral in a 3-phase panel almost caused a fire last Tuesday.

He used a zip tie to hold the wire against the bus bar, and the heat from the poor connection melted it within an hour. Anyone have a better method for a temporary hold when you're out of the right lug?

Yeah, zip ties melt fast with that kind of heat. I saw a guy try to use electrical tape for a similar problem and it just cooked right off. Sometimes you just have to shut it down until you get the right part.

I mean, jessicad98 has a point, sometimes you gotta improvise.

Sounds like a real "hold my beer" moment right there.
