Had a customer last week tell me I was heating my soldering iron too hot for PCB work

He said I was pushing 400C on through-hole joints and that I should be around 315C for standard boards, and after trying his way on a stuck capacitor I pulled it clean without lifting a pad - has anyone else been running hotter than needed and just not realized it?

Oof, that one stings a bit but you gotta respect results.

Respect the hustle even when it hurts, right?
