Put my phone in a bucket of water by accident on site yesterday

Was working on a freight elevator in an old warehouse downtown and set my phone on top of a junction box. Didn't see a pipe drip right above it. Came back after 15 minutes and my phone was sitting in a puddle. Screen went dim and the speaker sounded like a robot. I threw it in a bag of rice for 6 hours and it actually came back to life. Guess I got lucky but now I'm thinking about getting one of those waterproof pouches. Anyone else keep their phone somewhere stupid and learn the hard way?

A ziplock bag works way cheaper than a fancy pouch.
