Question about a stuck governor on a 90s Dover in a Philly high-rise
Had a call last week where the governor wouldn't trip during the annual test. Found a small piece of wire from a frayed cable lodged in the mechanism. Cleared it out and re-ran the test, everything passed. Anyone have a good method for checking that area during a routine inspection?

Ever drop a mirror down there too? @the_ben is right about those cheap cameras, mine just sits in the toolbox because the app is pure garbage.

Ever try to check that spot and just end up staring at it? I usually get my phone light in there and a small mirror, but half the time I'm just hoping I don't drop the mirror into the pit. My old foreman used to swear by one of those cheap borescope cameras, but I could never get the dang thing to connect to my phone.

Honestly the real problem is how many of those old cables are just falling apart. You find that wire because the sheathing is brittle and cracking everywhere. I'd be looking at the whole cable run while you're in there.
