Stop using WD-40 on elevator door rollers

I keep seeing guys at my building in Chicago spraying WD-40 on sticky door rollers and it just makes them gum up worse after a week. Use a dry silicone lube instead or you'll be back swapping rollers in 3 months, has anyone else noticed this messing up their regular service calls?

Drives me nuts seeing people grab WD-40 for everything. It's not a lube, it's a cleaner that dries out fast. Same guys probably use it on door hinges too and wonder why they start squeaking again.

Oh totally @blair_gibson78, but I swear that stuff still saves me in a pinch when I need something quick and cheap.
