Used to swear by those cheap rail guides from Grainger, now I'm a convert
Been in the trade 12 years and always thought the $15 rail guides were fine for alignment. Last month on a job in an old building downtown, we had a 8-floor car bouncing like a pogo stick. I bit the bullet and bought a set of the Hovmand laser guides for $220. Fixed the ride quality in one pass. Anyone else find that spending money on alignment tools actually saves time in the long run?

Did you have to remortgage your house to buy them though?

Honestly @joel_mason22, that's a stretch. Just because something costs more doesn't mean you have to go broke for it. Tbh, most people I know just saved up or skipped other stuff to make it work.
