Went to the new library downtown and their traction elevator sounded off

Heard a faint grinding on the up cycle, like a sheave issue. Building is only two years old. Anyone dealt with a similar noise on a newer Otis unit?

Yeah, that's the planned obsolescence business model in action.

Bet the installer rushed through the sheave alignment on that Otis.
