Just switched from a local ISP to a big carrier after years of hating them
I used to swear by our local ISP in Austin because they had great support. But after 3 outages in 2 weeks that took down our whole office, I got fed up. A buddy at another company told me their big carrier has a 4-hour SLA guarantee, and I saw the difference when we switched. Now I get why enterprise folks push for the major providers even if they cost more - uptime matters more than a friendly voice on the phone. Anyone else have a bad experience with a local ISP that made you change your mind?

Ugh, yeah I totally get that... outages just kill everything.

@reeselewis I'm not sure I'd call a few outages "killing" anything unless you're running a hospital or something. We had a local ISP in Phoenix that went down once a month for like 4 hours, and yeah it was annoying but we just worked offline or shifted tasks. The big carriers have their own issues too, like slow response times on the phone and weird billing stuff. Unless your business literally can't function without the internet for a few hours, it doesn't seem worth the premium.
