That week our main fiber line got cut twice in three days
First, a construction crew dug into the conduit on Monday, taking out service for our biggest client downtown. We got them back up by rerouting through a backup provider, but then on Wednesday, a different crew did the exact same thing two blocks over. The second outage lasted almost six hours because we had to wait for the city to approve a new splice. I mean, what are the odds? Has anyone else had a run of bad luck with third-party damage, and how do you handle the client calls when it's totally out of your control?

It's like the universe has a weird rule about digging near important cables. You start to see a pattern where the most fragile piece of infrastructure always seems to attract the backhoe. Managing those client expectations becomes a whole separate job on top of the actual fix.

Document everything before you even start digging.
