A client in Dallas told me my $85 facial was 'too relaxing' and she couldn't stay awake to drive home.
She was serious and asked if I could make the experience more 'alerting' next time. Has anyone else had a client react like this to a calming treatment?

Sounds like the perfect review to me.

Ugh, tell me about it. I saw a review for a hair dryer that just said "it blows air" and gave it one star. Like, what did you expect it to do? Some people just want to complain. It feels like they're not even reviewing the actual thing, just their own weird mood that day.

Got to side with the client here. If a treatment leaves someone too out of it to drive safely, that's a real problem. It's not about complaining, it's a legit safety concern. They paid for a service and got an unexpected side effect. Asking for a less intense version next time seems pretty reasonable.
