After 3 months of steady work, I saw a big difference in a client's dehydrated skin

I had a client named Diane, maybe 55, who came to me with skin that looked almost like crepe paper. She had been using a heavy moisturizer at night but nothing during the day, and she wasn't drinking much water. I suggested she start using a simple hyaluronic acid serum under her day cream and try to get in 6 glasses of water a day. After about 6 weeks, I noticed her skin had a little more bounce, but the real change happened around the 3 month mark. The fine lines around her eyes were softer, and her skin just looked plumper and healthier overall. It really drove home how much hydration from both inside and outside matters. Has anyone else seen a similar shift with a client who changed their water intake and added a serum?

Did Diane ever mention if she felt like she had to force herself to drink more water, or did it become a natural habit after a few weeks? I'm curious because I've had clients who really struggle to hit that 6 glass mark, especially when they're not used to it. The serum part makes total sense, but the water intake seems to be the harder sell for most people. Did she notice any other benefits from the extra water, like better sleep or clearer thinking, or was it strictly a skin thing?

Oh man, this whole thing with water is wild when you step back and look at it. It's like, we spend so much money on fancy creams and gadgets, but something as simple as drinking more water is where the real struggle is. I've noticed it in my own friend group too, not just with skincare but with everything. People will buy expensive supplements or pay for gym memberships they never use, but ask them to just drink more water or take a ten minute walk and suddenly it's this huge hurdle. Maybe there's something about the quick fix that feels more satisfying, even if the simple stuff actually works better in the long run.
