Changed my mind about hydrafacials after a trade show demo

Went to IECSC Chicago last month and watched a esthetician do a hydrafacial on a model with active acne. I always thought the suction would make things worse, but she showed how adjusting the pressure actually calmed the breakout. Has anyone else tried this on inflamed skin?

Oh wow, that's really interesting to hear! I've always worried about the suction on acne too, but it makes sense that the pressure matters a lot. Sounds like a controlled hydrafacial could be a good option for calming breakouts instead of making them worse.

I get what you're saying about controlled hydrafacials, but I'm not convinced they're the answer for active breakouts. The suction can still aggravate inflamed acne even at lower pressures, especially if the skin is already irritated. Seems safer to stick with gentler treatments until the breakout calms down first.
