Client's skin turned orange after a vitamin C serum this morning

I'm usually pretty careful about layering products but I guess this new brand I tried mixed weird with her moisturizer. She came back an hour later looking like a Cheeto. Had to scrub her down with a gentle cleanser and do a quick enzyme peel to fix it. Anyone else had a vitamin C oxidize on a client like that? What brands do you trust for sensitive skin?

That new brand might have had L-ascorbic acid at too low a pH for her skin type, especially if she uses a moisturizer with niacinamide in it. @joel_mason22, did the article you read mention anything about mixing vitamin C with peptides?

Read somewhere that vitamin C serums with a high concentration can sometimes react with ingredients in cheap moisturizers, like certain oils or silicones. Could be the brand she was using didn't have the right pH balance either.
