I finally stopped using those gel-based makeup removers on my clients

After a year of thinking oil cleansers were too messy, I switched to a $12 jojoba oil mix from the health food store and my extractions have been way easier ever since, has anyone else found that oils work better than gels for breaking down stubborn waterproof makeup?

That 'too messy' thing is real but I wonder if the texture difference actually changes how you apply pressure during removal. With gels you tend to rub more, with oils you might naturally use less force which could explain the easier extractions. Have you noticed your clients' skin looking calmer too?

That thing about applying less force with oils is probably it, gels make you think you have to scrub harder just because of the texture. Reminds me how people use a heavy hand with everything in life until they find a smoother way.
