So my steamer just quit mid-facial on a regular client... the whole 'just use distilled water' advice didn't save it.

Guess the distilled water was busy preventing a problem in some other universe. Those things always die at the worst possible time, like they have a personal grudge against your schedule. You can follow every single care rule and they still just decide to quit. It's the appliance version of a dramatic exit. Now you're stuck with a half-steamed client and a fancy paperweight. Classic.
