That $200 hyaluronic acid serum did absolutely nothing for my dry patches

Bought it after a derm recommended it on instagram and after 3 weeks my skin still looks the same. Anyone else feel like these pricey serums are all hype or did I just pick the wrong one?

After 3 weeks my skin still looks the same" - that was me with a $150 La Mer cream, total waste. For dry patches what finally worked was a cheap drugstore glycerin serum patted on while my face was still damp.

My $80 bottle of Drunk Elephant felt like I was just moisturizing my pride, not my face. I finally caved and tried the glycerin trick from a random Reddit post, and I swear my skin drank it up like I do coffee on a Monday morning. Now I just stand in front of the bathroom mirror, patting that cheap stuff on my damp face, feeling like a total goof but also kinda smug. My wallet is way happier, and honestly so is my skin. Just a heads up though, your specific mileage might still vary depending on how dry your air is where you live.
