That 'miracle' LED mask I got for $150 actually burned my client's cheek

I thought I found a steal on Amazon for a red light therapy mask, but after three sessions on my regular client Jen, she came in with a red patch right under her left eye. Turns out the 'medical grade' claim was nonsense and the diodes were way too strong in one spot. Has anyone else had luck with cheaper LED devices or is it really just pay up for the big brands?

Yeah @camerony82 you're right to be suspicious, it's a total gamble with those cheap masks. Same thing happened to me last year with a $80 blue light device from some random seller. Client got a little burn on her nose bridge after a few uses, and I felt terrible. The whole "medical grade" label means nothing on Amazon, it's just marketing fluff. I learned the hard way that those diode arrangements are rarely tested properly, especially the cheap knockoffs. Your client's lucky it was just temporary redness, mine needed a week to fully heal. Makes you wonder how many of these things slip through without any real safety checks at all.

Oh jeez, that sounds rough for your client. Did it leave a mark or was it just temporary redness that faded after a day or two? I mean, I've seen some of those no-name masks on Amazon and the reviews are all over the place, kinda makes you wonder how they even get through safety checks.
