Had a nightmare week with smart plugs until I went back to dumb timers
Last Wednesday I had 3 different smart plugs lose connection to my wifi in the same day. One was a basic schedule for my coffee maker, and it just stopped working at 6 AM. I spent 45 minutes resetting a single plug while my coffee sat cold. By Friday I dug out an old mechanical timer from my junk drawer and plugged the lamp into that. It has ticked perfectly for 4 days straight now. Has anyone else had enough of these wifi dependent gadgets and gone back to basic stuff?

Mechanical timers never need a firmware update.

and the mechanical timer just works, no app needed! My coffee maker has never missed a morning since I switched back. I wasted a whole day factory resetting plugs that just needed a wifi password re-entry. Dumb tech wins every time for me.
