Just figured out a way to organize my phone photos using folders on Google Drive instead of paying for extra storage
Last week I realized I had over 3,000 screenshots clogging up my phone, so I spent an hour sorting them by month into Drive folders on my laptop and cleared 12GB of space without paying a dime for cloud upgrades, has anyone else found a trick like this for decluttering their gallery?

the "sorting by month into Drive folders" thing is genius, i do something similar but i use Google Photos locked folder for the really personal stuff then batch download groups of photos to Drive by year. what saved me the most time was using the file manager on my laptop to sort by date modified, made it way easier to spot the random old memes and screenshots id forgotten about. also pro tip if you have a Samsung phone the built in storage cleaner in device care will flush out empty folders and old apk files from your gallery, cleared like 2GB more for me that way.

All that effort moving files around just delays the inevitable though. You're still relying on Google's free 15GB which fills up fast once you start dumping thousands of photos there, especially if you use Gmail or Docs too. Might be smarter to just pay the $2 a month for 100GB and never worry about sorting anything again.
