My friend in Denver said to always force close apps on my phone to save battery

Turns out that's wrong for most phones now. I tested it for a week and my battery actually drained faster because the apps had to fully restart. Anyone else get this kind of old tech advice?

My mom still does this every single day. She swears it helps, but her phone is always dead by noon. Old habits really do die hard, don't they?
