My phone died right when I needed directions in Seattle

I was trying to find a specific coffee shop downtown last month and my battery hit zero. I remembered an old trick my friend Mark told me: you can ask a store to charge it for a minute just to get a map up. I went into a hardware store, showed them the address, and they let me plug in for five minutes. Got enough juice to pull up the route and walk there. My buddy got lost in Chicago and just asked a random bus driver for directions, dude sketched a whole map on a napkin for him.

That whole "drew a map on a napkin" thing sounds wild, but honestly that story totally changed my mind about people in big cities. I used to think everyone from Chicago was too busy to help a lost tourist like that. @sama80 your friend got lucky with that driver, not every city has people willing to go that far out of their way for a stranger.
