My phone's battery was dying by 2pm, so I had to pick between a new phone or a power bank

Last month, my old phone just couldn't hold a charge past lunch. I was looking at either dropping $800 on a new model or trying a $40 power bank. I went with the power bank, a 10,000mAh Anker one. It's small enough to fit in my pocket and I just plug in for 20 minutes around noon. Now I finish the day with plenty of battery left. It's been a total game changer for my work days. I'm curious, has anyone else fixed a dying battery with a power bank instead of replacing the whole phone? How long did it last you?

Honestly, did you ever feel like a power bank was just admitting defeat? I used to think that way, like my phone should just work on its own. But my last phone got so bad I was carrying the charger everywhere. Grabbed a cheap power bank on a whim and it totally changed my mind. It bought me another full year with that phone before I actually needed an upgrade. Now I see it as a simple fix that saves a lot of money.

That "simple fix that saves money" thing is so true. I started using one for long bus rides to visit my sister. It meant I could watch videos the whole trip without hunting for an outlet at the station.
