Spent $40 on a smart plug for my coffee maker and it's actually worth it
I bought a Kasa smart plug last week because I kept forgetting to turn off my coffee maker before leaving for work. It saved me from coming home to a burnt pot twice already. Anyone else use smart plugs for everyday stuff like this?

@tyler_42 yeah the Kasa app has scheduling built right in, it makes a huge difference. For the ceiling fan thing, you can actually grab a smart switch that fits a standard wall box and wire it up yourself if you're handy. I did that for my bathroom fan and it was surprisingly easy, just turn off the breaker first and watch a YouTube video. The scheduling rules let you set it for sunrise or sunset too, which is way better than guessing. If you don't want to mess with wiring, there's also inline smart modules that hide behind the switch plate. Definitely worth the $15 upgrade over worrying about leaving stuff on all day.

Yeah is that the one with the scheduling feature? I set mine to turn off my living room lamp at sunrise and it actually helped me wake up better than my alarm clock. I just wish it would work with my dumb ceiling fan without needing a special switch.
