Spent 45 minutes trying to open a PDF that needed a free browser extension

Last night I needed to submit a signed form for my kid's school field trip. I downloaded the PDF, filled it out, hit print, and nothing happened. Turned out the fillable fields weren't working because Chrome needed a specific Adobe extension I didn't have. I spent 20 minutes redownloading and trying different sites before I noticed the tiny notification bar suggesting the extension. Has anyone else wasted time on a simple fix that was staring them right in the face?

Ngl I just gave up and used Adobe Acrobat online instead.

That notification bar is honestly the worst... I've got a similar story from last month where I spent way too long trying to print a boarding pass from my email. It turned out I had to click a tiny link that said "view in browser" instead of just downloading the attachment. The worst part was I knew it was something simple but I kept missing it because the text was so small and grey on my phone screen. What made you finally notice that extension bar after 45 minutes? Was it just luck or did you find some trick to spot those hidden messages?
